2014 was a so called super election year in Sweden, with elections to the EU parliament, the Riksdag, the regional governments as well as the municipalities. Centerpartiet, the Swedish Center Party, asked us to develop a concept that would rally the members and that could be used as an election platform throughout the entire year.
Centerpartiet’s main issues are the environment, the conditions for small businesses and the importance of making sure all of Sweden is represented. We summarised it in the single tagline, Närodlad Politik (Homegrown Politics). This became the rallying call for the four different election campaigns, and the basis for the visual identity and tonality of the party.
When we started our cooperation with Centerpartiet, the polls were at an all-time low (2,8%). By September 14, the main election day, the national average for Centerpartiet was 6,11%. Närodlad Politik has now become a permanent tagline and the party is enjoying ever growing numbers in the polls.
